Europe & Asia upcoming study destination as US, Canada, UK getting costly

Due to changing visa laws, Indian students who have long been drawn to study for higher education in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia now face considerable obstacles. Due to the difficulties in obtaining study permits as a result of these modifications, students are being forced to reevaluate their options and look into new places/countries.

The costs of studying overseas are emphasized in the Indian Student Mobility Report (ISMR) 2024. In the US, $10,000 in Canada, $13,000 in Australia, and $9,700 in the UK, Indian students pay an average of $12,000 a year for housing. Together, Indian students spent around $34 billion on international education in the fiscal year 2023–2024.

By 2025, spending is predicted to increase by 14% to $70 billion. Indian students are increasingly considering new study abroad options that provide high-quality education without the hassles of traditional visa procedures in response to the stricter visa rules. Because of their more lenient immigration laws and more affordable living standards, countries in Europe and Asia are emerging as desirable alternatives.

For Indian students hoping to offset the hefty costs of an overseas education, financial preparedness is becoming increasingly important. Early budgeting and planning might potentially cut educational costs by 20–30%, according to the ISMR 2023–2024. This proactive approach is particularly important for West Bengali students, who make up a sizable portion of the Indian student population studying overseas.

The ever-changing world of international education necessitates flexibility and thoughtful preparation. Indian students need to be aware and adaptable when visa laws change in order to take advantage of possibilities in both established and developing academic hotspots.
